Meet the team -  Benjamin Vogler

In this interview we get to meet Benjamin Vogler, Head of Platform Engineering, EMEA, who works in our Copenhagen office.

How long have you worked at Kuba?

I started in October 2025, so I’m quite new and still getting to know my new colleagues in Denmark and across the globe.

Your last job was in the world of banking - what inspired your move to the mobility sector?

While the technological challenges were very interesting in my previous role, I found that banking and insurance weren't necessarily exciting topics by themselves. I rarely met anyone asking follow-up questions after telling them what field I’m working in!

When I got the opportunity to switch industries and work in a sector I believe in and I'm really excited about, I jumped at the chance.

What does your day-to-day work look like?

It's very varied. Sometimes it's about solving technological problems, or having discussions about our architecture. Other times, I'm focused on making sure my team has everything they need to continue providing a platform that our developers love, in Denmark and across our offices around the world.

You’re a first-time manager. What aspects of leading a team are you most looking forward to?

Over the last few years, I noticed that what I enjoyed the most at work was getting other people excited about new technologies. I'm looking forward to seeing my team grow in knowledge and confidence, and be proud of their contribution.

My main goal is that they feel comfortable coming to work - knowing that I have their back, and that I support them in fulfilling their career goals.

What is your favorite quote that represents your attitude to life?

When you’re not at work, what is the thing you enjoy doing most?

I love fiddling with technology in all forms, and my cellar could probably be classified as a museum of useless technology! I also enjoy going to the theatre, reading, football and hiking.

I love the Danish summer and enjoy exploring and finding new places in Copenhagen.

As both of us have moved around a lot in our lives, my wife and I are lucky to have friends in different places around Europe. One of my greatest pleasures is renting a summer house somewhere, and meeting-up to spend a week or two in good company.
